Cabinet expansion soonKathmandu, March 21:

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the Nepali Congress might join the government by next week.Addressing 44th International Day for the elimination of caste based discrimination and 7th anniversary of National Dalit Commission, he said talks with the NC in this regard were on but a concrete decision in that regard was yet to be taken. He claimed that the opposition party was game to join the government but the coalition partners seemed reluctant.He assured the gathering that in the cabinet-reshuffle in near future, a person from Dalit background would be made minister.He said he had brought inclusive ‘ordinance’ as per the aspirations of the general public. He said coalition partners were more concerned about finding out loopholes in the ordinance. He also criticised those who benefited from the ordinance for not being vocal enough in itssupport. He argued that reservation and giving special rights to the downtrodden were vital for their uplift.He said he would work for giving legitimacy to the bill that aimed to end caste discrimination. He said the government had not been able to bring about drastic changes, as they were still following old policies. He urged the people to help draft new constitution and said he would always work for the betterment of marginalised communities.Ram Lal Bishwokarma, president of the NDC, said they had submitted several memorandums to the government seeking legitimacy for the commission.He added that the cases filed at the commission often remained unsolved due to lack of rules.
